Dad never happier than when surrounded by family 🥰
Happy Christmas 🎄
Getting ready for our 21st birthday party 🥳
Always room for a chocolate biscuit!!!
Dad loved looking at his stamp collection and tried to encourage his children to share his enthusiasm. Our pleasure really came from observing his!
Summer 2020. Fabulous to be together after Lockdown 1.
One of my all-time favourite photos of dad. Here he is, walking in the Lytham club day parade. He was representing St John’s ambulance, and waving to his family. This is dad very much in his happy place x
Lytham Club Day again. Dad always wanted the programme. In fact, we teased him as he wanted to collect brochures from everywhere he went 😁
Dad loved his garden. He’d spend hours gathering the leaves in the Autumn. When staying, I’d often cut the grass for him and he loved to watch. Without fail, he’d wave at me every time I passed the window!
Family holidays are such a feature of family life. Guessing Pete took this photo.
Introducing Dad to a chocolate fountain was hilarious. He didn’t quite grasp the idea of a gentle drop on his strawberry…. he almost copied Dawn French (from Vicar of Dibley) and wanted to put his whole head in!
At the Britannia Inn, Elterwater, whilst Pete and Jax over from New Zealand. A real family favourite.
Surrounded by his grandchildren. Dad was so proud of them all.
Club Day again. Iconic Dad photo. He loved yo wave. On top of a mountain, on a cliff top, by a river, wherever a photo was taken he’d often pose with a wave “to Uncle Albert”.
Dad and mum, Michael and Jean, 21 January 1956.
Sharing a glass of bubbles with dad on our deck (you call this a balcony in England!) overlooking Tauranga Harbour and the Pacific Ocean
Having a lunchtime drink in one of dad's favourite restaurants overlooking the Ocean
Sitting by the Ocean in Te Kaha with a lunchtime beer (I sense a common theme is developing here!)
I caught up with dad on his second trip to New Zealand for a beer in Singapore. Rock on Tiger!
True Blue
Another sunny day in the bay!
Harbourside Tauranga Christmas Eve 2015
Michael & Jacqui Hula Park
Celebrating dad's investiture with mum and Annie at Buckingham Palace. Minus the corgis!
Politics was a big part of Dad’s life. He started as a Liberal and really these values remained throughout. Here he was (European stars shining brightly behind!!) talking at conference about the rights of war widows.
Standing proudly with his parents, Edward and Lilian, as his father received his CBE.
With Annie and her 3 boys! Dad always explained how he had to take a boxer's stance when holding one of the dogs to be sure he could keep his balance :)
Fabulous holiday in Rhodes, 1986.
In his beloved Lake District. Early 1980s? I wonderf what he was laughing at with that idiosyncratic twinkle in his eye?
Silverdale scouts. Dad top row on the left. He was had n the Peewee patrol. Brother Chris is sat front right. He loved his childhood in Silverdale and loved to tell us stories about he and Chris growing vegetables for the village show.
