I was burstingly proud every time we watched him walk in the Club Day parade – particularly when he was wearing his St John's Ambulance uniform. When I was little, I didn't fully understand what this was, so I think I thought he was some kind of police officer! I remember watching him approach in the parade every year, waving at us in his regal way, and I was so proud that OUR Bampa was in the parade for all to see!
